His favorite subjects are landscapes, urbanscapes architectural concepts, abstracts, Haitism Expressionism and realism. He also do portraits.
When asked why he utilizes so many styles and techniques, Micheal states his philosophy is that growing as a visual artist is a never-ending process. Unlike many artists whose work is easily recognizable, Hammons does not want to be stereotyped into a certain subject matter or media. He believes that, as a professional artist, it is exciting and educating to experiment with different creative processes, otherwise, an artist will never grow and the work will become dull and uninspired.
